Vortec ShockJockey Suspension Seat is a jockey seat with a compact integrated shock absorbing base. For different operator weights or changing sea conditions the seat height and damping characteristics can be adjusted without tools using the adjustment knob with accurate numerical indexing. The FOX shock absorber has nominal suspension travel of 150mm and is fully adjustable with separate adjustment for low speed compression and rebound.

The ShockJockey mechanism is fully enclosed to keep user body parts, ropes and equipment away from moving parts. The flexible gaiter can be dropped for routine inspection. Metal components are 316L stainless steel and A4 fasteners are used throughout. The flat back surface of the seat allows fitment of VHF radios, torches or other equipment up to 5kg (11lb) in weight. GRP mounting pods are available. Conduit can be fitted as an option to provide concealed cable connections through the seat base.

The small seat base footprint is designed for retro-fit mounting to a wide range of surfaces including GRP or aluminium storage box seat bases. The compact overall seat dimensions maximise deck space and two vertical grab handles mounted to the seat back improve mobility of personnel when moving about the craft.

The self skin and colour one piece cushion is moulded from closed cell foam with leather grain effect surface texture. This construction method is durable and will not absorb water even when cut. Small cuts or minor surface damage do not stand out as the material is the same colour throughout. Seats are coloured black as standard, other colours are available to order.
