The boat can be fitted as a rescue boat in all ships under EU flags and in any country that accepts SOLAS regulations. Each boat is supplied with the corresponding declaration of conformity, identification plate and user / maintenance manual.
The Vanguard SOLAS 420RB hull is manufactured from 4 mm marine grade aluminium with a closed cell foam core. The boat can be powered by 25 or 40 hp outboard engines. The boat is designed to be a man overboard or rescue boat communicating between life rafts in the event of an accident. It can also be used as a work boat for transferring crew and equipment, carrying out inspections and auxiliary tasks.
The tubes for the SOLAS 420 RB have five independent air compartments equipped with safety relief valves. Vanguard Marine manufacture inflatable tubes and collars in house from Polyurethane PU or Neoprene-Hypalon to meet different user requirements. Elastar PU Polyurethane options are manufactured using mechanical and robotic systems, together with Thermosealing technology, an industrial system that ensures consistent quality. The Orca Hypalon neoprene manufacturing process uses the traditional manual cold gluing method.
Vanguard SOLAS range includes inflatables and RIBs meeting stringent technical specifications in accordance with the International Convention for Safety of Life at Sea. The Vanguard SOLAS 420 RB has MED B and D certification from Lloyds Register under the Marine Equipment Directive (MED 96/98/EC) and its amendments, as well as the International Convention for Safety of Life at Sea SOLAS 74 and amendments, and IMO LSA Code resolution MSC 48(66) chapter V MSC/Circ.980.
