Markus MOB Boat Rescue Net and Scramble Net Cradle are designed to assist rescuers lifting a heavy, injured or unconscious Man Over Board (MOB) onto an inflatable or rigid Fast Rescue Boat (FRB) in a horizontal position. The Markus MOB Boat Rescue Net can also be used as a ladder.
The Markus MOB Boat Rescue Net can be operated by one person when the boat is on the move or stopped. The net structure is lowered vertically into the water before the casualty is approached. When the casualty has been grasped with one hand or a boathook the pull-in line is swung onto the far side of the casualty. The casualty is then placed with shoulder and backside on the net and rolled (par buckled) on board.
The MOB Boat Rescue Net weighs 4 kg (8.8 lbs) and is only 5 cm (2“) diameter when rolled-up. The system is designed to enable a vessels crew to effectively recover a casualty from the water. It is soft on the body when the MOB is par buckled on board.
The MOB Boat Rescue Net is supplied packed in a PVC / Nylon cover bag which can be attached with 4 buckle loops to a vessel rail or safety lines. It can be fastened to an inflatable craft with Hypalon patches or to a rigid craft with optional S/S fittings. It is also effective for use on most types of workboats and high sided pontoons. With a link pipe and extra cover the rescue-net system can be mobile and used by craft with no rail at the deck edge, including pilot and harbour service boats.
